StarShade Warranty

StarShade Solar Screen Mfg. (StarShade), warrants its solar screens to be free from manufacturing defects during the periods set forth from the date of purchase.StarShade provides a ten year warranty on all parts (excluding the screen mesh) for as long as you own your home on which the product was initially installed. StarShade will repair or provide replacement product, free of charge for any manufacturing defects. The words "defect(s)," as used in this warranty, is defined as imperfections that impair the operation and function of the solar screen. This warranty applies to frame, corners, spline, installation hardware and cross bars under conditions of normal non-commercial use, but does not apply to defects that result from the product for purposes other than those for which it was designed or damage(s) resulting from modifications or attachments to the screen or any damage to the product caused by impact of foreign objects, normal wear and tear, accident, misuse, abuse, acts of God or by fire, explosion, or other casualty. The consumer must promptly notify StarShade in order to provide an opportunity to investigate the claim and examine the product claimed to be defective. If a defect covered by this warranty, Starshade, shall either repair or replace the defective screen.  StarShade's liability under this warranty is limited to the conditions above. No implied warranty shall apply beyond this written warranty.

Lifetime Limited Warranty

Textilene 80 or 90 solar screen fabrics are warranted for the period of time the fabric remains in its original installation on an owner occupied single family private residence (home) until the homeowner(s) residing in the home at the time of installation of Textilene solar screens sells the home or no longer resides in the home, whichever occurs first, at which time this warranty shall expire in its entirety. Textilene 80 or 90 solar screen fabrics are warranted against an increase in fabric openness* greater than 40% for Textilene 80, and greater than 30% for Textilene 90 as a result of normal weathering. This warranty applies only to fabric openness and does not apply to any other damage or increased fabric openness caused by any source other than normal weathering. This warranty is available only to homeowners residing in the home where the Textilene solar screens are installed and who purchase Textilene solar screens from, and have them installed by a dealer that is a Twitchell Authorized Textilene Solar Screen Dealer at the time of purchase and installation. A list of Twitchell Authorized Solar Screen Dealers is available on the Twitchell web site www.twitchellcorp.com. The Twitchell Warranty Registration Form provided by the dealer at the time of installation of Textilene solar screens must be completed for the warranty to apply.in full by the homeowner and received by Twitchell within 30 days after installation. Textilene 80 or 90 Fabric that appears to be defective must be returned to Twitchell for inspection. Twitchell will replace the fabric with a quantity of Textilene 80 or 90 solar screen fabric, as applicable, equal to the quantity received upon confirmation by Twitchell that fabric openness was increased by normal weathering to a level greater than 40% for Textilene 80, or greater than 30% for Textilene 90. Claims under this warranty are limited specifically to replacement of Textilene 80 or 90 solar screen fabrics and do not cover the cost of labor, frame, hardware, applicable taxes, shipping or other consequential expenses related to the removal, return, or reinstallation of the solar screen fabrics. Twitchell Corporation will in no event be liable for special, incidental or consequential damages related to Textilene 80 or 90 fabrics. This warranty is not transferable and shall expire immediately upon the sale of the home by the homeowner purchasing Textilene solar screens or at the time such homeowner no longer resides in the home, whichever occurs first. This is the complete and only warranty provided for Textilene 80 and 90 solar screen fabrics. There are no other warranties, express or implied, for these products. *Fabric openness is the space between the strands in the solar screen that allows sunlight to penetrate the screen. The more open the screen, the less solar shading the screen provides. If an increase in openness were to occur, the screen would no longer provide as much solar shading as it did when originally purchased (it will not fall apart, develop holes or expand significantly). The warranty allows for replacement of the screen fabric if fabric openness increases as a result of normal weathering.
